Minutes of the Uffington Parish Council Meeting held in the Village Hall on Wednesday 17th April 2019
Present: Cllr Brown – Chairman, Cllr P Genever, Cllr Sheehan, Cllr Babbs ,

1. Matters arising
Defibrillator
It is anticipated that this will be installed prior to the Scarecrow week-end.
Red Cross defibrillator training was well received – 14 people were trained and a donation of £75
will be made to the Red Cross. Prop.Cllr Sheehan, Sec. Cllr Babbs
Play area
Hedge has been cut back.
Roads and paths
Casewick Lane flooding and pot-holes are both on the LCC schedule of works.
Towers and Spires
Clerk has contacted Pete Hickman with reference to a donation towards increased production costs.
This will be ring-fenced by the Parish Council until required.
2. Correspondence
Elections
District council Elections will take place on 2nd May 2019. There will be no Parish Council election as
the seats were uncontested and the result has been published. The following councillors will take up
office on 7th May: Barrie Brown, Nick Sheehan, Paul Genever, Jayne Hartley, Bridget Hutchins, Darren
Barratt.
Speed limit consultation
Letter received from LCC re: Stamford A1175 Uffington Road, Newstead Lane and Mill Lane proposed speed limits. All objections to proposed speed limits have been overruled and the speed limit order will proceed as proposed.
Allotment waste
A substantial pile of waste had built up during the winter months. Allotment holders have been reminded to clear away waste in a responsible manner.
Permissive footpaths
LCC are aware of the permissive footpath route which has been signed additionally to footpath 10 and state that it is the choice of the user as to which path they choose.

A white tipper van SH11 NWJ has been reported in Uffington in connection with a gravel scam.
Anglian Water have been digging in Lindsey Road again. Still no communication about final fix.
Cllr R Trollope-Bellew and Cllr Brown thanked retiring Cllrs Babbs, Dodsworth and Mulvaney for their hard work.
